Choosing your domain name is a very important part of top placements. I told you I would give you some pointers and that is what I am going to do.
First you need to have some commonality between a title and a domain name. Both of these need to have your keywords in them. This is a good practice with a lot of search engines, but it is particularly important when dealing with Yahoo!'s algorithm (algorithym is just a fancy seo word for the way a search engine deterimes how relevant your site is to the key phrase being searched).
Yahoo! has about the simplest algorithym of all. All Yahoo! uses to determine the relevancy of a site is the title, the domain name and the description of the listing in their database. So if you pick good, sensible keywords to be added to your title, your domain name and your description you have an excellent shot of placing well in their directory.
Let's pretend that we have a violin repair shop and we also offer lessons. Obviously we will want to place under the search terms "violin repair" and "violin lessons". So you will want to choose your site title and domain accordingly. For example a good title for this type of site would be something like "Violin Repairs & Lessons - Music to Your Ears". Then you should try to register your domain as something like "http://violins-lessons-repairs.com".
By having the hyphens in your domain name you are making sure that all the search engines will be able to identify your keywords in your domain. Some search engines cannot easily distinguish the keywords if they are all ran together. Don't go crazy with this. Try to pick a reasonably sized, accurate domain. It is ridiculous to have a domain name like "http://violin-music-lessons-repairs-at-cheap-rates.com" Remember KEEP IT SIMPLE.
It is becoming increasingly more difficult to find a dot com that is not outrageously long, so a dot net or dot biz or info will work as well as the dot com would in the purpose if search engine placement. (*Note: the only dot extension you should aviod would be a dot org unless you are running a non-profit organization.)
Really this is probably the easiest aspect of search engine placement. You just need to make sure that both your title and domain contain your primary keywords or phrases without going overoard.

Once you have decided on the title and domain that you want to use for your website you are on your way. You have just completed the first step in search engine optimization. Now you just need to let me know what domain is going to work best for you and if you need me to take care of the registration for you, then you are on the the last stage of this order form.
